Hello Gang!
A small glitch with the "Leave Your Comments" page but we got it fixed.
Not sure how you packed 8,000 bed kits in your suitcases but if you are anything like my wife you would need a diffrent pair of shoes to match every bed kit.
Sorry that you missed the Queen. Actually, too bad for her! She missed a great opportunity to meet a fine Scotsman. Her loss!
Travel safe and thank you for what you are doing.

Your comments about the long flight, Heathrow confusion, time change and the sudden heat of Dhaka all brought back memories.
I hope all of you enjoy Bangladesh as much as I did. It's a wonderful country, full of amazing people.
Please say hi to the Rotarians and the Hadis from me.

It is great to get your news every day. Seeing the children's faces makes it all worthwhile. I can relate to the traffic! Eyes must be in the back of your head to keep track of the variety and amount of all others on the roads.
Enjoy the amazing hospitality, and bring home many happy memories

Wow! Sounds like you all are having an exceptional third world experience! Please look after my mother (Marg Garrett) as I now hear that she has no glasses to see with :)

It sure looks like you are creating a lot of happy faces.

Looking forward to more pictures and stories!

Not to sure about the food though, Chile fish??
Your Friends at Festival Hydro wish you a save journey.

Douglas,
Wonderful to learn that you've arrived safe and sound in Bangledesh, and that you and your Sleeping Children volunteers are well on your way to successfully delivering thousands of bed kits to children in such need. You're all to be commended. Your first report about your travel day left a lot to one's imagination..."a long story, one best not repeated"... my heart went out to you and your fellow Bangledesh team volunteers. I can't imagine and in fact I don't even want to try.
But, I'm sure now that you are days into your distribution endeavours, that all the children's smiles and appreciation sparkling in their thousands of eyes is providing all the necessary endurance and encouragement needed. Certainly from your more recent blogs, that appears to be the case. Kathy and I will be following closely, Douglas, so keep up the communications.
I haven't seen any "award winning photographs" posted as of yet, so I'll be waiting in great anticipation. Your blogs are tremendously informative, very interesting and heart warming. We're both exceedingly proud of you and your team's efforts, Douglas. Take care buddy.
Dave & Kathy
P.S. No doubt you've heard of the Canadian election results, another Conservative minority, at a cost of $300 million dollars!!

Douglas,
The award winning photo has just surfaced. I just viewed it with today's posting. The boy peaking around the tree with sparkles in his eyes and sparkles in the background is quite a picture. A picture is worth a thousand words, isn't it?
We're thinking of you and your crew. God Bless

Hi Doug and Team:

Undoubtedly an amazing (some say, life changing) experience. We're excited for you. We're sure the reward is in seeing the happy faces of the children....kids have a way of getting right to the heart, don't they.

God Bless ! Pud and Donna

Hey Gang! Amazing how a day of hard work in the extreme heat can be very rewarding.
You are an inspiration to us all. The way you maintain your focus is truly impressive.
Keep your spirits high.
God's love and speed.
John & Holly Woelfle
P.S. We think the food sounds great! I hope everyone loves curry.
P.S.S. Don't eat the Chateaubriand. (It's not really beef)

Go figure that the BB works in remote Bangladesh but not in Iowa or Myrtle Beach. Wonderful though so that all of us can continue to follow your experiences.
The 8000 children you touch this trip will not forget the bedkit they received nor the caring group of people that delivered it.

Safe travels,
Cheryl

Hi Marg!!What conditions to get you to the impoverished villages. You and the crew are amazing. The children will love you forever to receive such great gifts. So good to know you and staff are safe after today's journey. Thanks Doug for the update.I pray for you all every day.It is rewarding work you are doing.Lots of love Mom.

Hi team - Thanks for all the updates. I wish that all SCAW donors could read your daily postings. Many of the details are missing from the "official" newsletters that they do receive.
Donors should know the rigours of a distribution that culminate in children receiving their gift.
All the best - Sally Jo Martin

I want also to thank my 85 year old mother, Louise who found me half way around the world by leaving comments on this blog site. It's all about the children.

I have read the daily blogs from Bangladesh, with enjoyment, and felt every step you all took. I was in Kolkata in January with SCAW, and the emotions of seeing all those incredible children are sometimes too much. It is so good to know that now another 8000 children are sure to have a good night's sleep. The donors deserve huge pats on the back for making it all possible
Congratulations Team Bangladesh!
