Kenya: How Do You Measure Success?

Children with Bedkits
How do you measure success?  One way is with a simple ruler; one of the seemingly less significant items in the bedkit.  The mother of a recipient, who was interviewed by a SCAW member, indicated that she had wanted to buy a ruler for her child but couldn't afford it.  When she saw that the bedkit included a ruler, she was so grateful

Another measure was the successful completion of the distribution of the final 952nd bedkit (a daily record for this trip); making a total of 5,000.

The successful relationship between our overseas partner; the Rotary Club of Nairobi culminated with a wonderful dinner last evening and finally with a luncheon with the entire club.  It was a great opportunity for our team leader, Bob Barclay, to do a SCAW presentation to inform the membership about SCAW, of the activities for the last two weeks and to thank them for their contributions.

Most importantly, 5000 children (and their families) received, what very well may be, the most valuable gift they will ever receive.  Many thanks to the donors who helped make this happen.   We were privileged to deliver the gifts of love.
